what the hey-San Diegoooo

After San Diego’s failed mission (failed in terms of buying those fucking sandals) I kind of fell off this blog, not sure why. But before I write about anything else, I’ll say a bit about the trip.

Garth performed beautifully, his Darth Vader voice was awesome. When we finally got to the hotel early in the morning, we took a nap, then went out to grab some food. I’ve never been to Dick’s before San Diego, that place is awesome. All the employees are assholes, and it’s much more entertaining to watch them totally blast another person (I’m talking to you, guy with the man purse, you got owned). It makes it even funnier when they are truly offended because they don’t understand the concept of the restaurant. Also, by this point I checked the hours of the sandal store, they close at 4!! So it was pretty much a no-go since it’s about an hour drive from San Diego. After an awesome meal, we walked further down 5th and found a puma store, we each got 2 pairs of shoes. I know, that’s kind of “queer eye”, but shit, I love pumas. The shoes AND the animal. After we bought those shoes, it’s a little hard to remember what exactly happened in what order, but I’ll try my best.

We walked back to the hotel, got ready, met a new friend, had a few drinks and walked to 5th street again. This place was packed. Tons of clubs and bars to go to, but before we went to any of those, we went to a steak house by the hotel. I think I spent a lot of money on that steak, more than I’ve ever spent on a meal. I remember that steak well, and it was fucking delicious. We walked around looking for a place to check out, finally landed on a small club. It was like any other club, a guy with a macbook, turntable, and huge speakers. Hey! We got a DJ! Not exactly my kind of place, I prefer bars or lounges. Needless to say, I drank quite a few beers in a short amount of time and got shitfaced. It’s my defense mechanism in awkward or new situations, not the healthiest I admit. We went back to the hotel, got even more dazed and confused and sometime after I fell asleep. The next day I felt very relaxed, we grabbed some lunch and walked around for a while. The weather there was perfect. We finally checked out and started the drive home.

Besides almost dieing in Escondido, probably the worst place on earth to die, though the Bermuda Triangle takes the cake, the drive was pleasant and seemed short.

I love San Diego, and must return soon to complete my quest.
